At the beginning of the new year, Somatec GmbH completed a change of management to the next generation. The new management and the background of the company are as follows:
Günther Kuhlmann founded Somatec 28 years ago and developed it into a renowned company for special machine construction in the field of winding technology. On 1 January 2024, Günther Kuhlmann handed over the reins to his son Thorsten Kuhlmann, who will now lead the fortunes of Somatec as Managing Director. For Somatec, this handover symbolises not only a generational change, but also the confidence in Thorsten Kuhlmann's abilities and vision to lead the company successfully into the future.
The new Somatec heads
The sons of company founder Günther Kuhlmann, Hauke Kuhlmann and Thorsten Kuhlmann Kuhlmann, have had close ties to the family business since they were children.
After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Hanover, Thorsten Kuhlmann joined the company in 2015 and has since held various positions in design, project management and most recently in sales. His technical expertise and market knowledge are the basis for understanding our customers' challenges and offering customised solutions.
His brother Hauke Kuhlmann, the new authorised signatory, began his career after completing an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic in 2010 and then training as a technician. He has also been a core member of the after-sales service team since 2015. His work has helped Somatec to offer its customers not only products, but also outstanding service.
Somatec is proud to introduce the next generation with Thorsten and Hauke Kuhlmann and to initiate a new phase in which the position as a renowned supplier of winding technology will be further consolidated and expanded.
Off course, Somatec would also like to emphasise that this positive and successful development of the company would not have been possible without Mr Günther Kuhlmann and would like to express its sincere thanks for the wonderful years spent together.
