Fakuma 2026: ECON Showcases Solutions for the Challenges of Modern Plastics Processing

Econ GmbH

Operate an underwater pelletizer yourself, analyze pellet quality in real time, and discover the new generation of the EPO-N series

At Fakuma 2026, ECON will showcase solutions for plastics pelletizing, quality control, and component cleaning. At booth 6107 in hall A6, the Austrian specialist will present technologies designed to address key challenges facing today’s plastics industry. Visitors will be able to interact with live applications and gain insights into the future of increasingly automated and quality-focused plastics processing.

“The demands placed on plastics processors continue to increase. Materials are becoming more diverse, quality standards continue to rise, and production processes are becoming increasingly automated. At Fakuma, we will demonstrate how ECON supports customers in meeting these challenges with solutions across the entire pelletizing process,” says Friedrich Rechberger, Managing Director of ECON.

Underwater pelletizing you can experience firsthand

One of the highlights at the ECON booth is the ECON Underwater Pelletizer (EUP) running live during the show. Unlike many trade show exhibits, the presentation gives visitors the opportunity to operate the system themselves and gain hands-on experience with the pelletizing process.

At the heart of the system is ECON’s patented thermal insulation technology. “High-quality end products start with a stable pelletizing process. Our patented thermal insulation technology ensures exceptional process reliability and consistently high pellet quality. That is why processors around the world trust our underwater pelletizing technology,” says Gerhard Hehenberger, CEO & Founder of ECON.

ECON PelletVision analyzes pellets live

ECON PelletVision provides automated inline pellet quality control. By combining high-resolution imaging with intelligent image analysis, the system evaluates pellet size and shape, enabling continuous process monitoring and early detection of quality deviations.

At Fakuma, ECON PelletVision will be showcased as a standalone exhibit. Visitors can feed pellets into the system and watch the digital analysis of pellet shape and size in real time.

“Digitalization is transforming quality control just as it is every other aspect of plastics processing. With PelletVision, we automatically generate relevant quality data, providing the basis for objective and traceable pellet quality evaluation,” says Friedrich Rechberger.

EPO-N 600 with integrated nitrogen system

With the EPO-N 600, ECON introduces a more compact and further enhanced generation of its pyrolysis cleaning system. The process removes polymer residues through thermal cleaning under a controlled nitrogen atmosphere without mechanically stressing or oxidizing the treated components.

The required nitrogen is generated directly from compressed air, allowing the system to operate independently of external nitrogen supplies. The EPO-N 600 is particularly well-suited for cleaning metallic components such as laser filters, tools, and extruder parts.

“In addition to stable production processes, efficient maintenance is essential for maximizing plant productivity. The EPO-N 600 provides a gentle cleaning solution for critical production components and helps extend their service life,” says Gerhard Hehenberger.

Meet the ECON team at Fakuma 2026

The seven-member ECON team will be available throughout the event for live demonstrations and technical discussions. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet Gerhard Hehenberger (CEO & Founder of ECON), and Friedrich Rechberger (Managing Director of ECON).
