Macro Engineering & Technology Inc. and Ingenia Polymers are proud to strengthen their long standing partnership through the installation of Macro’s advanced 7-layer blown film labline at Ingenia’s newly expanded Brantford Innovation Centre, Ontario facility. The labline consists of seven 1.25” extruders, paired with Macro’s proprietary blown film die and air ring technology that can produce film widths of up to 500mm (or 20”). The system is equipped with a 24” wide Macro’s Automax surface winder capable of producing rolls up to 12” in diameter.
The new lab-scale system expands Ingenia’s capabilities to develop, evaluate, and optimize advanced multilayer film structures while accelerating material innovation and product development. The installation reflects a shared commitment between Macro and Ingenia to drive innovation in polymer development and strengthen Canada’s leadership in multilayer film technology.
The event highlighted the strong collaboration between academia and industry. In the top row (left to right), Zach Charlton, Chief Technology Officer at Ingenia; Prof. John Vlachopoulos of McMaster University; Prof. Costas Tzoganakis of the University of Waterloo; Dr. Karen Xiao, VP of Technology at Macro; and Prof. Andrew Hrymak of Western University are pictured celebrating Ingenia’s 40th anniversary and the expansion of the Brantford Innovation Centre.
