BG Plast presents its 4500 mm calender at K 2025

BG Plast

Precision and reliability for geomembrane production

Since 1987, BG Plast has been engineering and manufacturing extrusion and calendering lines for thermoplastics, providing customized and technically sound solutions to the thermoplastics industry. At K 2025 in Düsseldorf (October 8–15), the company will showcase its latest achievement: a calender with a 4500 mm roll table, specifically designed for the production of geomembranes and related applications.

A robust system for demanding markets

The new calender has been developed with one clear goal: to offer customers a machine that performs consistently in large-scale sheet extrusion. With a roll face width of 4500 mm, a closing force of 125 kg/cm, and a fully automatic gap adjustment ranging from 0 to 25 mm, the system ensures uniformity across the entire sheet width, allowing for flexible thickness management with maximum quality reliability.

The engineering design also features independent motorized rolls, each equipped with a dedicated temperature control circuit to guarantee also thermal stability during production.

As a company, we see innovation not only in terms of new concepts, but in how effectively a machine meets the needs of its application. It’s what manufacturers of geomembranes need: robustness, stability and process reliability,” explains Florio Roccon, owner of BG Plast. “It is a machine that does its job with accuracy and consistency, day after day.”

From geomembranes to V-Stud and T-Grip liners

While geomembrane production is the calender’s primary purpose, BG Plast has engineered additional rolls that extend its versatility. With V-Stud and T-Grip configurations, the system can produce anchoring sheets used in concrete structures and large pipes - an expanding market where HDPE liners play a critical role in durability and performance.

These additional rolls open the door to new applications,” adds Roccon. “Our customers can diversify production, from standard geomembranes to anchoring liners with complex patterns, without compromising quality or efficiency.”

See it live at K 2025

Visitors to K 2025 will have the opportunity to see the 4500 mm calender and discuss its applications directly with BG Plast’s technical team at Stand 16D61. Alongside the new calender, the company will also present its extrusion and coating lines dedicated to different thermoplastic sectors.

Roccon concludes: “For us, K is always about dialogue. It’s the moment when technology meets real production challenges, and together we can shape solutions that last.
