From large-scale geomembrane lines to the 4500 mm calender at K 2025, BG Plast reflects on a year of innovation, global growth and shared industrial vision.
2025: a milestone year for BG Plast
The year 2025 marked a significant turning point for BG Plast, both from a technological and a strategic perspective. Innovation, international partnerships, global trade fairs and people shaped a year that reads like a shared diary, written together with customers, partners and technicians.
Founded in 1987 and based in Marnate, Italy, BG Plast is today one of the leading manufacturers of extrusion, calendering and coating lines for thermoplastics. In 2025, this role was further strengthened by several key industrial achievements.
Innovation as a driving force
Among the year’s major projects stands out the assembly of an 8000 mm geomembrane extrusion line for HDPE and LDPE, designed for multilayer configurations, geotextile coupling and productivity up to 1500 kg/h for large environmental and infrastructure applications.
Another highlight was the debut of the 4500 mm calender at K 2025 in Düsseldorf, developed for large-format sheets (T-Grip, V-Stud and geomembranes) and combining independent driven rolls, accurate thermal control and high surface quality.
“With the 4500 calender we combined size and precision, opening new application fields without compromising on process control,” says Florio Roccon, Founder and CEO of BG Plast.
BG Plast also completed the revamping of the BGF 2000 sheet line, bringing a 2002 installation back to full performance with upgraded automation, productivity and energy efficiency.
In parallel, the company consolidated its presence in extrusion coating through the installation of a 3200 mm line in Poland (MDM NT) and the partnership with Extech, enabling advanced lamination of PVC, TPU, EVA, PP, TPO and TPV on technical substrates.
Strategic partnerships
On May 1st, BG Plast signed its fourth contract with QBC/DWF Group (Qatar) for a 4100 mm HDPE liner line (T-Grip and V-Stud) with 1200 kg/h capacity, adding to previous supplies of two 8000 mm geomembrane lines and one 2000 mm T-Grip line.
In Brazil, the sister company Robel do Brasil introduced the new R|Flex2 line for flexible PVC film, combining Italian engineering and local manufacturing.
A year of global events
2025 was also defined by strong international presence at ArabPlast, MAHATECH, Plastimagen, Plástico Brasil and, above all, K 2025 in Düsseldorf, where BG Plast’s stand in Hall 16 ranked among the most visited in the extrusion-calendering area. Florio Roccon attended his 17th K edition, confirming a lifelong link with the industry.
People and future outlook
The year also highlighted the human dimension of BG Plast, with the arrival of Fabio Spinelli in the sales team and the retirement of Roberto Bianchin, after 30 years of service.
As 2025 closes one important chapter, BG Plast already looks to 2026 with new coating projects, advanced calendering technologies and expanding international partnerships.
“Every year adds a piece to our story,” concludes Roccon. “But the future of extrusion is built every day, together with our customers.”
